Welcome to Healers and Patients!

Students in Professor Kym Weed‘s ENGL071H: Healers and Patients have been working in small groups to explore the Stories to Save Lives database and research a health topic of their choice. With the help of the course GRC, Camille Kroll, each group has created a playlist of interview clips and each student has written an essay that contextualizes the issues raised in their selected interviews.

The Stories to Save Lives project is an oral history research initiative of the Southern Oral History Program based in the Center for the Study of the American South at UNC-Chapel Hill. The project has conducted over 150 interviews that focus on health, illness, and medical care in twelve counties in North Carolina.
